Thanks Glen, I may have to go with the engineering diagram depiction. I had a photo I took in the 60s with a wooden box car with diagonal braces resting over the subway, but
Can't find it.
Used to see the men coming out of it at 3:30 and getting into the waiting cars driven by their wives. My paper route ended at the corner of Grove and Root less than 150 ft away from the subway.....

Used to listen to the morning, lunch and quitting time whistles while a kid.

I don't have a photo of the pedestrian underpass, but I can give you a description.  The station map identifies it at MP 36.89.  It is a 6' x 7' concrete box, 60' long with 10' long wing wall aprons on both ends.  When you walk through it from the Lincoln Avenue side, you are looking directly at the Oil Store building.

I'm working on the power point for the upcoming presentation in Aurora. As part of the
Discussion on the shops I'm talking about where the workers lived.
Does anyone have or know where I can find a photo of the pedestrians subway under the mains at Grove and Lincoln used by the shop men living just east of the shops ?

Leo
