Dave - With the slightly canted cylinders and dome arrangement, looks like
a Class D-4-A 2-8-0 type in use as a helper engine on West Burlington Hill. The
headlight is unusual, along with the stubby stack. But, the roll back tender
almost certainly means it's a Q locomotive. It appears the head and back-up
light are the same type and not the standard Q "box" headlight. This may be a
case where the Q was trying out another kind/type of headlight as mentioned in a
previous thread about the different kinds of headlights used over the years.
This is an early image of a Class D-4-A in service. Best Regards - Louis

Hi
All,
The
attached image was recently posted in a group on Facebook and I was
wondering if anyone might have an idea as to the identoty of the locomotive
shown.
