I remember in the late forties or early fifties, the UP detoured over the Lincoln-Revana line which ran through our back yard in York Ne. I think it was due to a flood of the Loup River in Columbus Ne. I can remember those UP trains going west all day long for about a week. The east bound went through at night. As you all know that the Q and UP had a diamond in Grand Island Ne. and that is where the UP trains picked up their main line again. Wish I could find some information about that situation.
