A Jerry Pinkepank article ("The Kankakee Belt is Back in Business") on pp 20-23 of the February 1969 issue of TRAINS magazine gave a brief history of the II&I, and then discussed present day (1969) operations on the line.

The old II&I became the "Kankee Belt" line of the NYC.
It ran from Southy Bend (I think) through kankee, Streater and ended up at Ladd IL.
Staffers NYC Early Powwer shows the II&I.
