I'm not aware of any downstate Illinois tunnels the CB&Q would have used. The only candidates south of the Illinois River would have been the 2 IC Edgewood Cutoff tunnels, the Big Four/NYC tunnel at Tunnel Hill and the Cairo & St Louis/M&O tunnel at Kaolin which was daylighted. Are you thinking of the Wabash Hannibal, MO tunnel, which per Bud Linroth's book "The History of the CB&Q Quincy Branch", the Q did use from Galesburg via Quincy and the line down the east side of the Illinois River through Fall Creek and East Hannibal and over the Hannibal lift bridge and through the tunnel?
