As I understand it, the EMD name or logo with still appear on the locomotives and the components. What will change is the company name on facilities, letterhead, paychecks, documents, drawings, etc. Those will all be Progress Rail. I am a little surprised that they didn’t do this change earlier. The EMD name on the products is a long standing and valuable property. I am sure that Cat/Progress Rail paid well for the francise name.
