Charlie,
As to the second express track, I think you're referring to the fourth main laid in 1929-30 Burlington Route,Overton,pg 338. My 1933 horse blanket Aurora ETT in the special Instructions Notes that "between Eola and Downers Grove their are four main tracks, number 1-4 from the North". My 1934 states there are three main tracks.
All visible signs of the fourth main are now long gone except:
1)Bridge work on the North side just west of Lisle and near River road over the West Branch of the Du Page River. 2)the gravel road along the north side between Naperville and Belmont. 3) the first yard track in what remains of the yard at Downers that comes of the main just east Of Belmont and runs nearly the length of the yard. At one time this was main one, then the Downers Grove siding, shown in numerous ETTS in the 30s and 40s,and finally referred to as Yard one by crews up into the 70s.

Jerry- Thanks….your instructions worked very well. I’ve downloaded everything from CUS to Aurora and up to West Chicago. Too bad the resolution isn’t anywhere as sharp as the originals must be, but they’re certainly better than nothing. Apparently by 1938-9 the second express track (running west off the north main) was removed as I can’t see any hint of it. The first track running east off the north main is in the photos as is what looks to be the freight house. Charlie Vlk Charlie and List: It seems the link changed things. OK, When page opens, click "Viewer", a new page opens, You will see "Find", click and select "Find County", select a county, zoom in, and then look around for the Burlington tracks on the map. Select a "red" square near the area you are looking for and click it. A box will come up, select a image format, click, and a photo will come up. Finally, put on a fresh pot of coffee.
