Once you identified that the hotel is in La Crosse, I did a quick Google search and found some more photos of the building from later dates.  The Wisconsin Historical Society documents the building was constructed in 1888, with additions in 1891.  The facade has certainly changed from the post card photo Hol found on E-Bay.  Check this out:
