I responded to Andrew on Railwire N where he posted a photo of his car.

The problem with 14240 is that it is not a 28’ car….it had been stretched to 30’ (added 2’ in front of the window group).

I could not find any 28’ cars with the full color herald in my photos or in The Burlington Waycars book.   Most of the 28’ cars with Chinese Red and Burlington Gothic lettering had versions of the white herald (full or stencil gapped border) or same with black background.

Hi Andrew - I found a photo of CB&Q 14240 3-window 28' waycar with a full three-color herald on it and it survived into the BN merger. Most red waycars had the white lettering and simple box outline herald and some had a similar herald but with a black background. BTW, I see a handful of red 30' waycars also had the full three-color herald.
