The photo is late rather than early.  After the 9768 was no longer needed on the Sterling, Colo., to Cheyenne, Wyo., branch (having been replaced by a second SW1, the 9145, which joined the 9143 in 1963), it was sent east to Peoria for use as a switcher and received the paint scheme shown.  The photo was taken at Peoria in 1965.  I'm attaching a color version of it.

Did anyone see the photo of Gas Electric 9768 on ebay last week? It carried a Burlington Route logo on the front right side under the cab and I can no see any BURLINGTON lettering on the letter board.

I have never seen a gas electric with the logo on the side under the cab. The photo must be an early version as the cab is appears painted Pullman green, not the more typical red and yellow. 

Looking at all the gas electrics photos I have, not one has a Burlington logo.

Does anyone have any info on this?
