The ICC Railroad Accident Reports from 1911 onwards are available at http://dotlibrary.specialcollection.net/Contents

I’ve compiled a table of those reports that involved CB&Q, C&S or FW&D trains, as opposed to accidents on their tracks, and showing basic details with a précis of the accident cause. The table has been uploaded to the CBQ List Files under “ICC Accident Reports”.

Accident Reports are few in number after 1960, with just one for the Burlington in that decade.

I was surprised to see how many extra trains were involved in accidents - of the 96 reports, 51 involved an extra – and how often flagging failures were identified as a substantial cause of the accident.
