Hol - Can you confirm the history of 9138? Was it constructed by EMD for the CB&Q or FW&D?  Amazing that the 76-year-old locomotive is still putting in a day's work at a cement mill. Do you think the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden would be interested in adding the SW1 to their collection? One of these days, sooner or later, 9138 will fail and end-up being scrapped. This elderly CB&Q switcher is certainly worthy of preservation. Best Regards - Louis

Since Karl's images didn't come through with my message, I'm attaching them again.

For those who don't remember, Karl Rethwisch posted these three images of the former 9138 at the Florence cement plant back on Feb. 14, 2012.

Passing by the Holcim Cement Mill in Portland, CO., just west of Florence, I finally got some shots of their switch engines.  One of these engines is non other than an old Q SW1.  I'm hoping to have an opportunity to shoot it in good light but these pics are a bit better than nothing.  The engines, the other of which is an SP GP7, are usually obscured from view by buildings and hopper cars.

Here she is.
