I don't have an answer for Mr. Howell regarding the date of construction, but as of 2013, the bridge was still there.  Clearly visible on Google Earth, and by using Street View, one can see that it is entirely of wooden construction, none of the structural members are made of old rail like the bridges we discussed in this forum just recently.

Also still standing in Bethany is the depot:

My name is Mike Bartlett.  I grew up in Bethany, MO.  There is what I believe to be a CB&Q bridge in the 900 block of S. 22nd in Bethany.  It is a wooden bridge for vehicles with a sidewalk for foot travel.  The train ran beneath the bridge.  As a youngster, I would watch the train as it passed underneath me while stand on that bridge.  I would like to know when the bridge was built.  There is no date on the bridge that I can see.  Any information would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.
