The following are things happening on former Q territory today so I deem them relevant.
1) learned last weekend from Ron Hinton that the Cicero to La Crosse long pool is again "busted"
Anyone have insight as to why..... General inability to get over the 300 miles in 12 hours or the upcoming massive work on former C&I and CB&N ?
2) just now saw a first at the local corner gas station,that also serves as an area truck stop. 150 brand new ties on a flat bed headed for downtown Yorkville,IL on the former Fox River branch.
Talked to the trucker who advised he brought the load from AL and sees a small portion of the new ties leave by rail,vast majority by truck. My how times have changed ! From my paying job I knew all kinds of parts,sideframes,bolsters,wheels, loco truck parts,etc,etc
moved by truck but now ties !
