The largest single order Edwards ever had was to the CB&Q for 12 cars.  The 500-series matches the order number, but I don't recall what a lightning bolt might represent on the cars.  Incidentally, at least two of those cars still exist; one in Iowa and the other here in NC in Asheville.

There’s an undated photo on eBay item 400918580626 showing a motor car at Aurora. It bears no road name or number but has a white lightning (Zorro?) flash on the side.

It appears to be an Edwards car and, assuming that it is a Burlington car, it matches a photo of 503 / 9503 which was scrapped in 1934 with the body being sold to a railroad employee. But what is the decoration on the side?
