Thanks Hol,  I have never seen the card anywhere else other than my GF's collection..He had some notes on the back of each one.  I know there were two cards as you mentioned..You're better off than I am...You have only "misplaced" one...I can't find either one...Some day my heirs are going to have a wonderful time trying to make sense of my "stuff"...I think, though, that's pretty optimistic..It will probably go directly to the dump.

I know Al included both photos, I think, in one of his books, but I don't recall which one...although I "kind of"  think I have it....I'm almost as distressed about losing the Lincoln paper article confirming the matter.

Thanks for correcting the record....I'll notify "all concerned" when I find my two cards...I know they are together and will submit them for posting.

Pete

Just for the record, the view that I posted came from Jim Ehernberger, who picked it up at a postcard show in Omaha last weekend.  It's a reasonably common postcard, and I've seen it for sale several times, both at shows and on eBay -- but I've never felt the need to pay the price asked as I already have good copies of it and the other postcard view showing the remains of the boiler where it landed.

Bill  I can figure out a way to get these out...HOWEVER...there is a larger problem...I CAN'T FIND THEM...I know I've got them because a few months ago I "reorganized" my stuff...ie..moved it around..I had sent them to Al Holck several years ago and he returned them to me in a nice little plastic case set up so I could see them both at the same time through the material..Also within that case I placed the notice from the Lincoln paper from  IIRC 1993 speaking of funeral services held for the men

Just yesterday while looking for these photos I found a set of color photos that I didn't even know I had and could have used ....and really need for a story I wrote for REMEMBER THE ROCK magazine...I've never been super organized, but now with old age setting in I'm in real trouble

Again HOWEVER...I have not given up and surely will find these photos...The one Hol W. posted I'm sure is one of mine and got to him  through Al.

The search will continue.

Pete

Pete,

If you have a cell phone with a built in camera, you can take a photo of the post card photo and send it to the List via e-mail. If your computer and phone talk to each other, you can transfer the photo to your computer and send it as an e-mail attachment. A scanner is nothing more than a camera with a sable bed that takes a photo of whatever you are copying or scanning. Modern smartphone cameras are amazing.

Louis...I have the original postcard views. I'd be glad to share them, but I'm not "equipped" to post photos and am hesitant to mail them. I may be able to prersuade a friend to do the posting..The big problem now is finding them..I "reorganized"...ie moved stuff around a few months ago and saw the photos..If I can find them I'll see what I can do to get them posted.

Pete
