As John discussed in his presentation at Rock Island at the fall meet,while a freshly painted company service car started out as Omaha Orange, rather quickly the cars morphed into various shades of orange and sometimes almost yellow,etc. His disc photos show this clearly. As he said repeatedly during the presentation unless you want a freshly painted look, almost any shade of orange will be correct.

Hi Tom:  the official color is Omaha Orange.  The same color the GN used in their passenger car/diesel paint schemes.  In theory, this should be the same as the orange used on BNSF locomotives.  It would depend on the manufacturer as to how accurate it would be.  Scalecoat once produced a totally wrong GN orange that was mostly red, so it would probably help to have some paint chips for comparison of a given product.  Happy hunting!  Jim Sandrin
