Group - On the subject of the Q's "beautified" depot switch engines, I went back through my digital archive and found a couple of images worth sharing. I'll do it in two postings due to file size.
 
Shown attached is Class G-10 No. 561 shown switching the Galesburg Station in 1934 and Class G-10 No. 565 switching at an unknown depot, but almost certainly at Lincoln, NE, where the locomotive spent much of its service life.
 
Generally speaking, depot switch engines were maintained cosmetically to a higher standard that their sisters working the freight yards. Everything had to look first class at the depot. Best Regards - Louis
