Can’t help with the XM-27 photo as such but they were rebuilt in 1926 from
300 XM-15’s (106600-107099 which had been rebuilt in 1922 from XA-4’s
built in 1910, and 107100-108599 built 1910) with steel centre sills and ends. I’ll
send you a photo of a XM-15 in case that helps.
The USRA cars were 120500-120999 – XM-24 – built by AC&F - there
was a BRHS data sheet on these cars.

Subject: [CBQ] XM-27 boxcar
photograph
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has a photograph of a CB&Q XM-27 double sheathed
boxcar they would be willing/able to share with me? I know the Q favored single
sheathed construction for many of their boxcars, but the XM-27s were an
exception. I have never been able to find a photo of these cars, despite combing
through stacks of photos at meets.
Also,
what class assignment were the Q's USRA DS boxcars given? Thanks for
any help.
Regards,
Bob
