Hi everyone,
I attended a similar that Dan presented for the National Railway Historical Society a few years ago. The topic was the record flooding in Cedar Rapids, IA and it's affect on the Iowa Northern RR and what it took to rebuild the damaged areas. He and/or his family owns the Iowa Northern RR(former Zephyr Rocket route to keep this a Q topic). He also owns the Hawkeyes Express the operated commuter service to Iowa football games. That has been a very successful operation.
I believe his goal is to restore and operate these units as a museum. I know he has the RR to do it.

With all the scams that one gets from the internet, how can one verify the accuracy of this and really determine if the organization is a non-profit, that the funds are for the restoration of the engines.
The RI really came up with one of the best paint schemes around. I'm not an RI modeler, but always loved this scheme.

They need room for other business now so we have to get the project going. Cosmetic restoration and FRA compliance is to be done to each unit starting soon. The cost will be just under $125,000 for each unit and the project must be paid in full by end of June. We will be applying for various grant funds, but really need some assistance in raising the necessary money for this project. Contributions are tax deductible.
