Norm - My brother and sister-in-law Ken and Ann Zadnichek own and operate Wales West in Silverhill, AL, about midway between Mobile, AL, and Penscola, FL < www.waleswest.com >. A great place to visit or take the grand kids if you (and any other Group member) are passing though this area of the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast < http://campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render?ca=8949d1ca-ac91-4389-b722-8e184f5203a3&c=6dd208e0-b6a4-11e3-b101-d4ae528442b5&ch=6ed68090-b6a4-11e3-b1ec-d4ae528442b5 > Wales West is more-or-less open year 'round, but check their web page for events and dates. That's Ken in full pirate costume and he really startles tourists when he's running his coal burning 0-4-2T dressed that way..... Wales West < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2BG6pwFaus > is patterned after a Welsh slate quarry railway. My brother has an annual whistle blow < http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqIwZzXz6Ws > using his 0-4-2T as a steam source, but its 150 psi is a little weak to blow mainline steam engine whistles. I'm not aware of any other tourist railroad in Alabama except for the Calera & Shelby Railroad that is part of the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum < http://www.hodrrm.org/body.cfm?id=203 > in Calera, AL, just south of Birmingham. It's another great place to visit and of which I'm a long time member along with the NRHS. Thanks for asking and giving me a shameless opportunity to plug Wales West. Best Regards - Louis
