Ed,

See my prior post. The motor lasted until '50 . I don't have my reference docs in front of me but memory says one round trip Aurora- Streator came off in '48 and the last one in '50. It was the RPO kept the job on until the P.O. Went to trucks. Interestingly it was a B.R. Employee, John Marsh, a Eola switchman who established a truck RPO That killed the motor car.

I have a passenger car question, if it has been answered before, then I would appreciate a reference to an approximate month and year.of the post.

Part 1. Which cars, numbers or names, that might have been used in Eola, Ottawa, Streator passenger service in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century? Which car types would have been in use on this line?

Part 2. When cars in passenger service were changed to heavyweights which cars were used on the Eola, Ottawa, Streator passenger service?    Would wooden cars have continued to be used on such branch line service in Lines East through the 1920s?

If there is a not so rare reference work that some one could point me to, I will look this information up for myself. I just don't know much about passenger operations from the 1890s through the 1930s. I was told that passenger service on this branch ended before 1950 and that streamlined cars were never used on this branch line. Any information that confirms or refutes this hearsay evidence would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Ed Carroll
