The way I see it is ANY interest in history is valid, useful and necessary. If
history isn't appreciated it will be lost. I was an employee but that doesn't
make my posts any more interesting or useful than anyone else's. The thing I
appreciate about this list is the variety of things I see here. Some I skip
over, some I respond to - but all of them add in some way to the base of
knowledge that must be preserved.

And I am a railfan, but not a modeler. There might be others like me.
In addition to the "Q" specific discussions (Chicago to the Twin Cities being
my interest), I enjoy reading about life on the railroad from years back,
regardless of the specific road or location.

   All,
I hesitate to answer this as the thread has turned into an employee
discussion, but My 2 student trips were in 1962 and 1963. Both from Casper WY
to Cheyenne, WY. Natrona County High School had a train trip to the football
game in Cheyenne. 1962 we had a steam engine with heavy weight cars The train
hit a pickup in Douglas WY at a crossing no dead and did not hurt the engine.
1963 a diesel E units heavyweights and no accident.
I apologize to the employees for taking your band width.
 Harold Huber
