Bill,
Thanks for clarifying the shrouding question

Noel,

Actually, the shrouding for the two locomotives was not identical. There were subtle differences, primarily due to the equipment under the shroud. The main differences were the headlight and exhaust inlet vent grills on either side, the skirting cutout around the driving wheels and the shrouding around the cab and front of the tender. No. 4001 was equipped an all weather cab while no. 4000 had a standard cab open at the rear. The shroud around the headlight area was different because the 4000 had an Elesco feedwater heater and the 4001 had a Worthington SA. The skirting around the driving wheels was the easiest identification. The opening was squared off on the 4000 and was more gracefully curved on the 4001. Hope that helps. Comparing photos of the two locomotives will show the differences. Photos of both locomotives can be found in BRHS Bulletin No. 33.

Hello All
I am looking for a HO Scale model of the Aeolus either 4000 or 4001. Shrouding was the same for both, was it not. Also looking for a very good set of scale prints or blue prints for the shrouding both front , sides and rear. This is for a Live Steam project in 1:32 scale. "G" scale. Thanks in advance for any and all leads.
