When I started workin' out of Trinidad, CO., in the late 70's, one of our terminals was, of course, Pueblo, ATSF country. Since this was Santa Fe property we'd receive our paperwork from the Santa Fe. On the Soup Ticket, or Consist, if you prefer, there were spaces provided for entering the unit numbers of your locomotive consist. There was another space with the letters WC that preceded the number of the Way Car (caboose) assigned to your train. These were pre-printed, ATSF forms. Waycar was very much a part of the Santa Fe's lexicon in the days prior to the BNSF era.
