Rob and Jan,
Most family members would toss this stuff as they don't want to deal with it
during an estate sale, it's a menu, have plenty of those... as they don't have
any idea of it's value unless the owner left explicit instructions of the value
of the paper products in their collection.
How many CZ Menu's in mint condition could there be remaining for you to
purchase as they're not going to come up that often. These things are going to
get more and more expensive as time moves forward and as they become rarer and
rarer.
I was looking for a book that was selling for $100-$150 used from the usual
sources (1999 ish), when they came up for sale, as not many were printed, I
believe 100 to 150 copies. When I offered $150 hoping that someone would be
willing to part with their copy of said book, I didn't get a single solitary
bite.
A month later, when I offered $400, I had 15 people interested in selling their
copy to me. I paid and received the book from the first person to contact me.
It's not so much as more money than common sense, it's a matter of what am I
willing to spend to get it and how long am I going to have to wait to get it if
I don't spend the money when the availability of these items is limited.
For me it was for some research, so worth every penny that I spent on the book.
You guy's who aren't willing to spend the money, could go your entire life not
ever getting what ever it is you're looking for, because you weren't willing to
spend the money.
I have my book, and I'm extremely happy and I can move on to something else,
where as if you want the a CZ Menu, you're still on your quest for one or more
of them. I understand that we all have budgets to work with, unless you're
Warren Buffet or Bill Gates, but if something is of importance to you and it's
as rare as hens teeth, you need to act accordingly.

It's called having more money than common sense.

I doubt it, Randal...I mentioned this awhile back. Ebay seems to be getting
inundated more and more with people who have no problem spending any amount
of money to get railroadibilia. Slides, photos, books, ect...it makes it
very hard for the rest of us to purchase.
Cheers!

when Burlington Escorted Tours began. I have an NP Yellowstone Park booklet
that I can date to somewhere between 1925 and 1928. It says, "The Burlington
Route, GN, and NP have this year established a series of Escorted Tours,"
and has the Burlington Escorted Tour logo.

would be nice to know the date of the first season so I can date these other
two documents.
