TELL TALE EXTRA: SEASONED EATINGS! Wyoming's own A.A. Krug turns eighty-three next Tuesday. In his honor, Berlin's own Inez Mischitz suggests birthday dumpling and quips, ''Al is still looking pretty spry for a seasoned citizen!'' DUMPLINGS INGREDIENTS One egg One tablespoon butter, melted One-quarter teaspoon, salt One cup milk Two cups all-purpose flour One tablespoon baking powder DIRECTIONS Whip egg, butter, and salt. Add milk, flour and baking powder. Mix quickly and do not handle any more than necessary. Roll out on floured board to half-inch thickness. Cut with two-inch biscuit cutter. Lay dumplings atop stew of your choice as it bubbles. Cover; let stew return to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer until done, about twelve to fifteen minutes. Remove with slotted spoon. Makes twelve dumplings. SOURCE McKenzie, William A. _Dining Car Line to the Pacific.
