Hi all:
I put a map of Vermont Illinois in the Files section. It is a 1955 map showing CB&Q Lake. Probably to water steam engines. Quite a few Burlington lines radiated out of Vermont. Starting at the top of the map and working clockwise:
North to Galesburg Northeast to Lewiston and Yates City Not shown, a future line almost straight east to the Sunspot Coal mine. The wye and line to mine can still be seen on Google maps. Southeast to Astoria and the Key Coal Mine (original line to Beardstown) South to Beardstown (new line) Southwest to Rushville
