The closest I can get you is the 1 May 1921 CB&Q passenger schedule, which shows two trains that offered direct Burlington St Louis to Davenport travel.

St Louis to Minneapolis-St Paul train 47 departed St Louis at 8:04 AM and traveled via East Alton, Beardstown, Monmouth and Rock Island with arrival at Davenport  at 8:15 PM.  Equipment was listed as coach only St Louis to Davenport. It picked up a Café Car at Rio it picked up a Café Car and 12 section/1 Drawing Room sleeper that came up from Galesburg. The sleeper went through to Minneapolis while the Café Car was dropped at Rock Island after serving dinner.

The overnight train was no.51, departing St Louis at 7:56 PM and ran East Alton, Beardstown, Vermont, Yates City, Galesburg, Rio, Rock Island and Davenport at 11:25AM.

Equipment was Chair Car and a 16 Section sleeper, which went as far as Savannah IL.

I’ve been asked to assist an author of a fictional work with details of trains to travel from St Louis to Davenport on February 20, 1922.

Looking at a CB&Q system map doesn’t suggest a simple direct route. Can anyone offer suggestions?

The author would also like to know the names of any trains used, timetable details, length of journeys, fares, etc. if possible.

Thanks for any assistance.
