The car has been reweighed, something that is regularly required of all interchanged rolling stock. In 1968 this was changed to 60 month intervals from 48 months for boxcars. Note the boxcar red “patch” in the paint toward the left end of the car which has been stenciled with the weight and notation DEN 6-70, indicating the reweighing took place at Denver in June of 1970. So the photo was taken sometime after June 1970.
