A BIG thanks to Rupert for providing the index and Randy for getting them out to us owners of the Waycar & Waycar drawing books. It never ceases to amaze me how someone living literally half way around the world, who has had just a couple quick visits to the USA, can know so much about a railroad that ceased to exist 43+ years ago. Yes, you can cull a lot from the Internet BUT it takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to 'mine' old newspapers, etc AND comb thru a nearly 800 page book plus all of our BRHS Zephyr & Burlington Bulletins to provide indices. BRHS gives awards, one in particular being for 'preserving CB&Q history'. Frankly Rupert is far more deserving than 1 or 2 previous recipients of same. Thanks Rupert for all your effort AND your willingness to share. A lot of Burlington fans own you a Coke or a beer the next time you come over the pond to a BRHS meet; hope it's soon! Gerald PS - it also is a reminder to those of us who live in America, especially in Q country, to do our share and do some research, measuring of old buildings, putting on clinics, helping with articles, helping at meets, etc. We all benefit! ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
