Bob -

CB&Q commuter service was completely dieselized in September, 1952 and the west end commuter terminal moved from Downers Grove to Aurora. You would have most likely had some type of EMD "E" unit (E7,E8 or E9)for power. Doubtful that an E5 or GP-7 would have been powering your train in 1961.
