Be careful with brake fluid, it will melt some plastics. What are you wanting to strip? Each manufacture seems to have a different formula for their plastic and their paint. So results will vary as to the product used and the model being stripped. Some have had good luck with 91% rubbing alcohol, may require soaking for 24 hrs, it will not immediately take the paint off, and it will cause problems with certain plastics and not work on certain paints. Same with Pinesol. Or use one of the paint strippers designed for models. Scalecoat makes one, Chameleon is another. With anything you need to experiment.

 

Also be conscious of safety. None of these chemicals is kind to the skin or eyes.
