ETT's are (I believe) the best way to learn how a section of railroad is actually operated, also keep a rule book handy.

I posted earlier about information on the Short Line from StLouis to KC for then Warren County Historical Society and got great info from Many of you.

The System Timetables have been very helpful, so I am now wondering what I can learn from the ETT's. I know nothing about them and what they contain, so a brief idea would be helpful.

As I understand it, RR's had different ETT's for various divisions or subdivisions. The question is how can I know if a specific ETT includes The Short Line? I have no idea what part of the Q the short line was in and when I try to do a search all I seem to get is BNSF. This is critical if I want to buy some on Ebay or mail order.
