Nelson
If I remember right there should be truck drawings in the Freight Car Diagram book.  I only have a few pages of the book that I was most interested in at the time(Might be a good Society project to Reprint)
The Diagram pages I have all list Trucks ie.  For Articulated Flats 64900-64909 and 64910-64914 it just shows Dalman with Journals
5 1/2 X 10.  In open top hopper cars 188000-18999, 192000-193199 it shows ASF Nat B  5 1/2 X 10 journals
In "Ownership, Age and Conditions of Loco, Frt. Cars, Pass. Train Cars, Work Equip. Dated Jan 1 1965"   Page 6 for box cars
10000-10001  200M  1964  2  Good  Purchased from Thrall Car Mfg. Co.  Two 8-ft sliding doors, Nailable steel floor,

Timken roller bearings, Keystone cushion underframe, A-3 ride control trucks,
For Chevrolet V-8 engines and parts.
That's about all the help I can give you and do not have the lists of drawings at SMU(Dallas) any more

Subject: [CBQ] Freight Car Trucks

I’m trying to fill in a chart of Q freight car trucks. I have some information from various sources, but I’m not sure of the accuracy, and there are many blanks. Here’s what I have so far.

CB&Q Designation               Standard Designation

No. 26                                    Arch bar 40 ton

No. 27A

No. 31

No. 37                                    Arch bar 40 ton (2 in. shorter than No. 26)

?                                              T-section

No. 39

No. 48A                                  Andrews U-section 50 ton truck

No. 49                                    Cast steel

No. 55                                    AAR 50 ton double truss

No. 55A

No. 56                                    National B-1

No. 56B

No. 57

No. 58B                                  AAR 50 ton standard spring plankless double truss self-aligning

No. 60

No. 65                                    ARA double-truss, self-aligning

No. 66                                    Allied full cushion

No. 67                                    ASF standard U-section

No. 68                                    National B-1

No. 79                                    ASF A-3 ride control

I would appreciate any missing information and any corrections to the information above. There are some obvious discrepancies.

Thanks.

Nelson Moyer
