The Mendota turntable was a Chicago Bridge and Iron 85 foot thru truss table air powered and installed new in 1918
The previous table had been an American Bridge deck girder of 74.56 feet again air operated installed in 1903 it had been salvaged and moved to La Salle and installed there in 1919.
Still looking for the Roundhouse

Hello group,

I'm starting to gather information on Mendota, IL for a future modular project and I was wondering if anyone has information on the Mendota roundhouse such as when it was removed, how many stalls, length of the turntable, ect... Also info about the operation of the roundhouse and how many assignments were at Mendota during the 40's through 60's would be interesting. I'm also curious if there are any plans of IC tower floating around?
