Hello everyone, I was reading the article on the Lee County Central Electric in the February, 2004, issue of Railroad Model Craftsman last night. It made me curious as what sort of inbound cars the CB&Q delivered to the railroad. A scan of the message archives indicated that empty boxcars for grain loading were very common. The elevator complex at Lee Center also received coal, fertilizer, lumber, and possibly telephone or utility poles (see top photo, page 89) during the 1960s. Does anyone know what sort of cars, and what railroads those cars were from, that the other commodities were carried in? I'm especially interested in what sort of coal was received, and in what road's hoppers. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark Heiden ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
