The curved upward eves was not limited to stations. Look at photos of the I.C. tower in Mendota, IL at the crossing of the Q and IC. It, too, has upward curved eves.

Doug's photo of Batavia IA brought an interesting question to mind: Why
were some depot roofs built with an "upward" curve at the bottom? Seems to
me that it would make construction more difficult and expensive.
