Hello, You're right, in Diesel Era Vol.13 #6 shows it right in the middle of the grill. The radio box right in front of the cab and the generator half way between the box and the roof hatch. John

In examining the few shots I've been able to find, the mast for the "wagon wheel" antenna seems to be right in the middle of the radiator screen area atop the hood of VO-1000 locomotives. Is this true? Or, more specifically, is there any reason the mast would NOT be located there? It just doesn't seem "right" that shop forces would locate such a thing there...
