Personally, I don't get too hung up on exact color matches because the paints on the prototype cars all weather differently and are never the same as they were when new and this happens very quickly most of the time.

Trucolor is supposed to be coming out with a CB&Q mineral red sometime in 2013. I've built 26 Q resin kits up to the painting stage in anticipation of an authentic Q mineral red paint. Ed Hawkins is consulting with them, and I understand he has authentic Q color chips. You may want to wait for the release before painting your cars.
