Don't have exact date but as you know under BN 85 was the night hot train North out of Cicero. 85/86 on the Q was the two turn daily job to Streator/LaSalle via  Ottawa. Under BN this became the run and gun nightly turn to Streator from Cicero. Recent research of mine still has 85/86 with assign wood way cars into 68. Under the pre merger re#ing the job(I think) became 602/603. By the time I started in Jan 73 #11811 was in existence and dying on the law regularly.

Really depressing to think back, not all that long ago, when there were 7 or more switch engines, 2 thru jobs,3 way frts and weekend extras on that branch. Today it's a short line with one round trip a day

I think the term  used on the Qs Aurora Div was "carrying ahead". As in carrying the Streators ahead of the Otfawas on # 85

This is not a request for information but a "test" to see if you remember...I do...  "Just so ya know"...it's a "list friendly term"...suitable for this or any other forum.   I do not have any idea of its origination.
