[CBQ] Dining in Savanna/Galena

If you're in Savanna highly recommend a side trip to Galena if you have any interest in civil war or mining history. Or for that matter good food as there are several good restaraunts in town. Galena is best described as the town time passed by and then entrepeuners found a way to make a buck. General Grant and 11 or 12 other civil war generals called it home and even the cheap & nothing wasted RR competed with the Q for business there.

We try to get to Galena about every other autumn and take in the colors during  the second/third week of October with a stop at the Pallisades to watch the wild turkeys and then a quick pass through of Savanna(too many bad memories). The rolling terrain in full fall colors is pretty spectacular.
