Originally the plant was to be situated in the northwest quadrant of Rochelle,
along the BNSF and served solely by the BNSF. However, Nippon Sharyo decided to
locate the plant along I-88 and the City of Rochelle trackage so that the plant
could be served by the Burlington Junction Railway. This gives Nippon Sharyo
the ability to ship via both BNSF and UP.
