Rupert,
If the bloke were still alive maybe a seat next to the last two Illinois governors could be arranged.

John
Thanks for the explanation. Whilst on the subject of politicians, in 1913 the Burlington was threatened with receivership if it failed to give free transportation to an Illinois State Senator. He wanted the pass "in connection with the legislative public utilities commission". The Burlington's general counsel declined as the company policy was that it provided no free transportation be it state or interstate. It would also have breached the Interstate Commerce Act to issue a pass. The senator replied "...you can look for legislation that will work hardship for your company ..." and "... when our commission gets through with you that you will find your road in the hands of the receiver..." The general counsel replied "I shall carefully preserve your letter for future reference..." At the consequent Interstate Commerce Commission hearing, the senator denied writing the letters, claiming that the letters were forgeries or a joke although the letters from the counsel had been sent to him at his home address. The Burlington survived! Rupert
