I am currently working on a BN Tribute update for BN GP30 2241 which was built
as the CB&Q 964. This is what I have written up for it so far.

CB&Q took delivery of 30 GP30's numbered 940-969 in the middle of 1962. The
964 was built in June of 1962 and I believe was assigned to Lincoln, NE after
delivery along with the other GP30's.

At the BN merger it was renumbered BN 2241 and BN GP30's 2233-2254 remained
assigned to Lincoln while the other ex-Q GP30's came west. There are a few BN
GP30's I never got to see in my travels and the 2241 was one that eluded me. I
saw some of the other "Lincoln" GP30's around Seattle on the BN at times as
well as a few pooled on the UP. Other ex-Q GP30's from Lincoln would later be
reassigned to the Seattle area but the 2241 was not one of them.

In the late 80's BN's rebuilding program sent the 2241 to EMD to be rebuilt to
a GP39E, emerging 7/89 as BN 2755 wearing the new whitefaced scheme. It was as
the 2755 that I finally got to see this locomotive in Seattle on 9-5-94.

At the BNSF merger the 2755 was renumbered to BNSF 2745 and is still in service
wearing BN green paint today.

I wasn't completely sure that the 964 was assigned to Lincoln when delivered.
There are two photos of the CBQ 964 on RR Picture archives and both were taken
in Illinois. Anyone know if Lincoln is correct? If there are any other
corrections to be made to this report I would appreciate the info. Thanks.
