Rory,

If you're patient all your questins and much more are covered in a 4 page article that is in the Zephyr editors hands.

There has never been a grain silo or elevator at General Mills. Refined processed bulk is spotted in whats called the old warehouse and after being produced into finished goods goes across Towne Rd on an overhead into the distribuiton warehouse. The upcoming article covers the history of the plant and service until today when the only rail business is inbound bulk. There a couple photos, track diagrams, etc.

The plant is on the west end of West Chicago and if coming from the west on Rte 38 just turn on Towne Rd and go a few blocks.
