The next time you are at a flea market buy a copy of a operating rule book. They are not expensive.
This threat has gone NUTS. Markers are on the "rear" of every train, even in 2012 in the form of FRED. Remember I stated REAR. Classification Lights (or flags) are on the FRONT. Green for section following or white for Extra or unscheduled(not in timetable) train, and none for scheduled train.
A regular scheduled train would not display any markers. correct term is Classification Lights. A section or sections of a regular scheduled train would display green lights and the last section would not display any lights.
If you were on an inferior train and a train shows up with green signals you would wait until all sections passed and the final section with no markers passed.

I am finishing up a Q Mountain and am ready to add marker lights so I checked my 1929 Rule book for lights and find this. Rule 20 - Engine running forward at night with following section - Green Lights Rule 21 - Engine running forward as extra -- White lights But what do you display for an engine running forward with a single train and on a schedule? Looking at my other engines doesn't help as I seem to have every combination of green and white. I think I am in serious need of doing some rework. Ken Martin __._,_.___
