Hi Patricia,

Have you gone to Mendota and seen the way car there. My father helped put it in place in Ottawa. He always said
that they got the way car colors to right and the only thing I thought was the steps were fine for the forties,
but different in late 1950s. However he did not work with the crew that painted it so he didn't know
if this particular one had ever had the other color because waycars got painted when the painting department
needed work or if the waycar was damaged.

So that is my two cents on what might help.

Waycar 14351 is located at St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Dupage County, Winfield, IL. We are starting to restore the interior to as original as possible. The goal is to have her ready for tours starting in June 2012. The question is what color yellow and brown were used in the interior. According to a schematic obtained states " interior should be painted brown color all around the car from the floor to a point in one with the window sill and below the cupola end of and yellow color above these points and including the celling". I would appreciate any and all help with this. Thanks.
