CW-6 #3992 operated between Centralia and Paducah on trains #71& 72. It had an
eight passenger "Jim Crow" section. Other CW's operated on this line earlier.

John, I just came across such a reference today. I was working my way through
an article in the Spring 2011 Classic Trains on the Wabash branch to Keokuk
when I spotted a reference to a CB&Q branch in Illinois from Quincy to a spot
opposite Louisiana, MO. This was the territory, accroding to the article, of
mixed trains 91 and 92 which were sometimes only an EMD switcher and "a coach
with a caboose-style cupola". Sounds like one of the CW-6s or -7s to me!

Hello to all...first post here, but some of you in other Hill Lines/ upper
midwest groups might recognize me.
I've always been fond of the CW-6 and CW-7 coach/ waycar combines, but have
never seen any kind of references as to when and where they served.
I've always assumed that they were branchline critters, but does anybody have
any more concrete info, such as when built, when retired, where based? Thanks
in advance...
