I'll leave out all the rule book language. High green meant your train was
going to continue on the track you were on and you were authorized to
proceed at track, timetable, special instruction speed limit. High yellow meant
your train was going to proceed on the track you were on but............you
must reduce speed in order to be able to stop before the next signal if it
is red.

What happened in my story was referred to as "pulling the signal on you".
It's one thing to pull(change) the signal when you are far from it and have
time to react, quite another to pull it as you are literlly going under
it... but the rule book states...observe until you pass the indication.

What are high green and high yellow? I know that Q signal bridges had
multiple signals mounted vertically.
